The Ultimate Loss

I understand that the loss of a loved one causes such great misery and grief that a discussion of money is distasteful.

Our society created the right to financial payment in wrongful death cases as an expression of three concerns

  1. to prevent economic hardship for dependents
  2. to provide for grievance and memorial services and
  3. to maintain a balance that matches our sense of justice

What You can Do

In all cases involving serious injury or death, make certain that the State and local law enforcement officials receive all of the information about the incident.. To prepare a wrongful death case, it is necessary to coordinate with the victim's spouse, parents, children, and any other dependents of the victim.

How I Can Help You

I will present the liability of the person who caused the death and the extent of the resulting trauma on the victim and the victim's spouse, parents, and children. Maryland law includes the following losses in the settlement or award:

  • financial losses;
  • mental anguish;
  • emotional pain; and
  • loss of companionship and comfort.

I personally meet with the members of the victim's family. I make certain that they are receiving proper attention during their grief and dtermine whether they have any distinct claims as a result of the incident.

As always, I personally work my cases, from negotiating with the insurance companies to, if needed, litigating against their lawyers. For more information, contact me.
