Injured while Shopping or Visiting
You slip at a grocery store. A stranger's dog attacks you while visiting a friend's apartment. Shelves collapse on you at a hardware store. In cases like these, you are entitled to compensation for your injuries. As with any kind of injury, your first task is to get medical attention.
Compensation is not automatic. The law, generally, imposes a duty on the owner of the building to protect visitors from danger. The question is therefore whether the owner knew or should have known of the risks. At the same time, the injured person loses if he knew or should have known of the risk.
For example, if you slip in a grocery story, you are entitled to compensation. You must show that you did not see the water on the floor but the store manager had, fifteen minutes earlier, seen the melting ice but done nothing.
How I Can Help You
Throughout the case, I will contact the medical providers so that they follow standard procedures in the processing of their fees. Most important, I will personally gather the evidence and present the arguments demonstrating the liability of the store or landlord. I will also establish the full extent of your damages.
I negotiate all of my cases with the insurance companies and, as needed, litigate against their lawyers.
