Fees

Matt Lavine

Like other lawyers, I set my fees in several ways, depending on the nature of the case. For injury cases, my fee is either hourly or contingency. In some cases, I set a flat fee based on my estimate of the hours to be expended. I have also created a fee structure that is hourly up to a top-most limit.

My flexibility in setting my fees is the result of my attempt to accomodate my clients' ability to pay. In criminal cases, I do not set fees in anticipation of pleading a client guilty, and I do not increase my fees because an individual had a prior record.

Every client receives a retainer agreement identifying my fees. Many lawyers have retainer agreements ready for signature at the first meeting. I typically email my clients the retainer letter to assure them ample time to review the terms.

If you have a legal problem, a delayed response can reduce your opportunity for success. Email me, call me, but do not wait. My consultation is free. Contact me without delay.
